Ziggy Marley [The Prince of Reggae]
Born in Trenchtown, Jamaica, Ziggy Marley is a reggae musician, environmental and social activist, and comic book creator. As the eldest son of reggae pioneer Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley was born with the magic of music embedded in his soul. He is a firm believer that his music is a tool to open consciousness and strives to give spirit to everything he does. With 18 albums and four Grammy Awards, this shaman of reggae tunes has found critical success on his path to musical enlightenment. On the humanitarian front, Marley has teamed up with the United Nations and has his own charity, Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment (URGE), which addresses ways to improve the quality of life for children around the globe. Marley’s album Wild and Free will be released on June 14 and his latest project, a comic book titled Marijuanaman, is a 48-page graphic novel that tells the story of a hero who “represents hope of the future,” and by no coincidence hit the shelves on April 20 … or 4/20.

It was my trip to witness Zimbabwe’s independence from England with my father because it opened my eyes to Africa and the struggle for freedom.

A green thumb for farming.

Jesus Christ from the Bible and Santiago from Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea.

My growth as a writer and finding my own direction.
