Somewhere – Sofia Coppola’s new film
On Monday, June 14th, writer/director Sofia Coppola Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette released the trailer to her new film, Somewhere. The film, scheduled for release later this year, will explore the issues and events that transpire once the estranged daughter (Elle Fanning) of a Hollywood star (Stephen Dorff) appears back in his life. Set largely in Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont, the film will touch on common themes in Coppola’s work - most notably, father-daughter relationships. The soundtrack will feature indie-rock band Phoenix (whose front-man Thomas Mars is also Coppola’s partner).
