Film director, Sofia Coppola has been recruited by Hennes & Mauritz to direct their advertising film and campaign for an upcoming collection with Marni. The ad was shot last October in Marrakech, Morocco. The collection’s designer, Marni’s founder and creative director Consuelo Castiglioni, explains the location’s colorful aesthetic is in line with the line’s “modern tribal” prints. Coppola will also direct and design the print campaign which will encapsulate the spirit of the film. The collection will include pieces for both men and women.
Coppola, who has received international acclaim for the films Lost in Translation and Somewhere, has previously shot fashion campaigns including the Miss Dior Cherie commercial featuring Maryna Linchuk.
Marni for H&M will be available on March 8, 2012 in 260 H&M stores worldwide and as well as online. Sofia Coppola’s ad campaign will be run in cinemas and on television worldwide.
