The Malibu Bratts, a cancer walking team started by Debrah Caraway, is about to walk in the 8th annual Kickin Cancer 5k/Walk/Run Women Heathcare Expo in Brentwood. The event is put on by the Lynne Cohen foundation for breast and ovarian cancer research. This year the team member count is 27, and it is composed of housewives, firemen, students, Ralph’s employees, cancer survivors, assistants and sometimes a celebrity (Dick Van Dyke).
Each year the number of members fluctuate, but the cause remained the same, “HELPING”. As we know from the economy, things change, be it financially, location, family obligation, nothing is definite, and it takes a 2month recruiting run, which I feel is worth it,and everything is appreciated, even the kind words of encouragement. I originally ask for contributions, but I found myself caught up, in all the excitement in being part of the moment, so I started asking people to walk with me, and I am very pleased with with the turnout, which makes for a better experience. I know this year’s team will bring its own memories and fun, which I am anxiously looking forward to. Well, that is the Malibu Bratts, and hopefully, I can surpass my no. of team members, next go round, and I hope that will include you.

THANK YOU DEBRAH!!!
You are an inspiration - always making everyone feel welcome and appreciated, wherever you are. Loved walking - and dancing - our way through Brentwood this morning with you and the rest of the Bratts! Looking forward to next year!

I was there in spirit, just to the left of the halo atop your head.
You are our North star.
Thank you,
