Why do you think religion has caused so much turmoil in the world?
People have a tendency to believe their way is the only way. Their tendency to disagree about their religious beliefs results in one belief trying to prove the other belief wrong and the conclusion of that is war.
Who is your favorite author and why?
I don’t have one in particular. I just like people who are writers of the truth.
What is the single most regrettable decision you have ever made?
I really don’t have anything worthy of that title. There have been things I have done that I’ve regretted, but I wouldn’t want to change what they have done for me.
What is your definition of happiness?
Appreciating living and life, and experiencing it joyfully.
You can choose five people, dead or alive, to have dinner with. Who would they be and why?
Einstein because he’s smart; Jesus because he’s smart; Genghis Khan because he’s smart; [my wife] Gabby because I love her and because we don’t get to eat alone very often, and my mom because I love her.

Forgiving, without judgment, and generosity.
What do you fear most?
The unknown.

Do you think there is life on other planets?
Absolutely.
What do you consider America’s biggest threat?
Itself.

i was reading a magazine with the title Malibu in it - the cover story about Laird Hamilton and his wife and their life in Malibu. In the issue was a brief article about a quilter whose last name was Anderson and a picture of a fish design quilt she had made. Sure enough i forgot her first name. Was this article in your magazine?
