“Imperial Bedrooms”, a new novel by Bret Easton Ellis was released today. The long-awaited sequel to his 1985 novel “Less Than Zero” (famed for it’s screen adaptation in 1987 starring Robert Downey Jr.), is darker and more thrilling than the original. “Imperial Bedrooms”, to the dismay of some fans, seems to be less of a 1980’s relic than his other notable works (American Psycho, Rules of Attraction). It will, however, touch on familiar subjects with the same characters - expanding on his previous exploration of what he paints to be a surreal and often bleak LA life.
