Summer entertaining is undeniably incomplete without a display of fresh cut flowers, whether they’re placed in a simple vase or part a more elaborate set of arrangements. Choice floral designs can set the tone on which an entire decorating scheme is based, or they can simply add flourishes necessary to freshen up a even a basic spread. It’s no secret that flowers liven up an occasion, but the question of which to choose and how to arrange them often leaves us at the mercy of the florist’s whims, or worse, our own last-minute decorating impulses.
Floral Art, a floral design studio in Venice, attempts to combat those uncertainties, turning them into a personal endeavor, and an outlet for your artistic expression. Jennifer McGarigle, renowned floral designer and the studio’s owner, is now offering classes open to the public. Classes at the studio teach everything you need to know about floral arrangements – from how to choose and pair flowers and materials, to how to match them with the décor in your environment and create your overall desired atmosphere.
July 15th marks the initial class, “Entertaining with Summer’s Hottest Blossoms”, which will cover all you need to know about creating a tabletop centerpiece, floral décor, and even edible flowers. The classes cost $150 each (with discounts as you attend more), which, considering that you’ll return home with the beautiful arrangement you create ($125 value) is an incredibly reasonable price. Classes run once a month, and advanced sign-up is required. Contact Floral Art at 310.392.1633 to register and get creative with your flowers.

Our canning group (CanCan Girls) have a keen interest in attending your floral design class. It looks like a one time session(?). Do you offer a series of classes too?
