Faces of Malibu

“To a visitor, Malibu is a place where the rich and famous retreat to rest their heads on pillows above soft sand and elegant beaches. Where expensive cars filled with beautiful people drive casually and care free on an endless highway next to the Pacific Ocean. A place where designer shops and gourmet restaurants are common stops on everyone’s daily agenda and a miraculous sunset is no longer a novelty. To a visitor, it is easy to see what makes Malibu so attractive and why the people who live their lives here don’t have much to complain about. Although applicable in theory, a visitor’s perception of Malibu does not represent the truth about this city or its community. There is no doubt there is something special about this town, but it cannot by defined or conveyed through material possessions or physical appearances. There is something more to this place, something indescribable by words and unique only to the 27 miles of coast that facilitates its existence. If a picture paints a thousand words, a face tells a thousand stories. The culmination of these stories creates what really makes Malibu so special, its soul. This is a dedication to the people of this town, their lives, and the soul of this city. These are the Faces of Malibu, and this is its story.”
