De Niro to be Bernie Madoff in HBO version of The Wizard of Lies.

New York Times bestseller The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust by Diane Henriques, has now been optioned by HBO to undergo transformation onto the big screen. The book documents the life of Bernie Madoff, former stockbroker and con artist who became known for his $65 billion Ponzi scheme that landed him in prison. Current reports say that Robert De Niro may be set to take the lead in the adaptation as famous schemer, Madoff, which considering their uncanny resemblance could be a perfect fit.
