It would be hard put to find someone who has never heard of Coco Chanel. This infamous French fashion designer broke the mold of 20th-century style by introducing menswear-inspired clothes, modern philosophy and luxurious simplicity. In 1969, Katherine Hepburn and Ginger Rogers graced the stage in a musical based on the designer’s life called “Coco.” Audiences once again have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the classy and extravagant life of Chanel, as the story follows her later life, trying to uphold her legendary – but fading – role as newer designers come onto the scene. Award-winning actress Sara Kestelman will play Chanel in this Broadway revival that will play at London’s Sadler Wells throughout the next month.
