When was the last time you were truly embarrassed and why?
I invited Gov. Javier Duarte of Veracruz, Mexico, to come over to my home in Mexico to discuss my charity organization VeracruzANA AC and how he could get involved. It was extremely important to me. My mother was over as well, and since I knew that she knows the governor’s family well, I begged her to keep quiet and let me talk professionally with him. Well, that did not happen. As soon as he walked in the door, she ran over to him, gave him a hug and asked, “How are you, my little boy?” She talked about how she grew up with his mother and even showed us how they use to dance. She then asked if he was hungry. When he said that he had already eaten, she said, “Nonsense!” and began cooking up a storm for him. Needless to say, it was not the formal meeting I had hoped for.

What is your take on the WikiLeaks controversy?
I think it was extremely interesting. It turned our world upside down and showed us that one person can infiltrate what we think is a secure system. It also showed us how advanced technology really is, even more so than we thought, and that people can use it in ways we didn’t know were possible. Think about the Internet; 20 years ago we had no idea we would be where we are now.
How would you define love?
Love is hard to define. It is what makes us live and be here. It is the most powerful energy and substance ever.
